Madi Gras is cranking up and getting into swing. Here on the Gulf coast we take our responsibility to party very seriously. As the title to this piece explains, "Let the good times roll!" You need some beads or want a parade full of cool floats to delight the kids? We got em. Dozens of them. Mobile, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Bay Minette, Orange Beach, Dauphin Island, Pensacola all participate. Music acts are performing up and down the beach. Ft. Morgan is conducting tours and firing cannons. The dauphin viewing boats are plying the bays. The zoo is open and the animals are frisky. You get the point. We are OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
A lot of folks think that the Gulf coast is only fun in the summer. Au contraire! There are things going on all over. And, the weather is cooperating. Sure, it gets cool down here, but not really cold. Today, for example, its partly cloudy 64 degrees with a light breeze. Okay, that's just today. But, having lived a good portion of my life in Denver (where, incidentally it is 34 degrees today), it always seems more than tolerable here. Most you usually need is a light jacket. My point being that weather is not a serious factor to dissuade anyone from visiting.
Nor is it crowded this time of year. The "snowbirds" have arrived from the frozen North, but those folks hardly fill a parking lot, much less the beach or parks. In fact, they make this place even more fun (some have the strangest accents).
The sand is still white, the water blue and the bushwhacker's delicious. So, come on down. Oh, and give us a chance to show you some great real estate deals. You would be surprised just how affordable a home at the beach can be. Just saying. . .
